A Closer Look

My name is Jen and this is my Rockstar Hubby of 22 years.  In case you were wondering, yes, we were married as children.  Rockstar Hubby is mostly referred to as simply RH.  He is strong, handsome, hilarious, and my own personal Prince Charming.  No white horse however.  Or crown.  RH is not fond of either horses nor crowns most days.  He does drive a large white work van though.

I enjoy the everyday adventures that life offers. The caption under my highschool senior picture  (500 years ago) said "Generally Speaking, she's JENerally Speaking.  Yep...pretty much sums it up.  No explanation needed.  And Rockstar Hubs gets to hear all of it first hand.  Lucky fella!! So...about me...hmmm.... I am currently a licensed realtor, I also work for a little boy at his school a few hours each week as his PCA (Personal Care Attendant).  You can learn a lot by spending time with 5th graders, because it's true that most people aren't smarter than they are. A year ago my husband's family (including me)  started a business called Grandma Myrtles.  See the link to our website on the homepage.  It's been an amazing journey so far and we can't wait to see where it leads. I also teach a fabulous group of women at a MOMS group twice a month at our church.  It's one of the most rewarding things I've gotten to do thus far in life.  It's so encouraging to walk out life as a mom with other women in the same boat.  So speaking of moms....I am one to these three beauties...
On the left is our oldest who we lovingly call Kiki because her brother couldn't say her real name when he was little.  That brother I just mentioned with the a.ma.az.i.n.g.l.y long tongue we call Dboy.  And the baby girl in the middle we call Gracie, which is not her real name at all.  We like using aliases, makes us feel like secret spies.  They are all teenagers now and that's a good thing.  Teenagers aren't scary at all as long as you keep them fed and wearing cool jeans.  We've homeschooled our troop for the last few years.  Shhhhh don't tell them, but I actually like it.  Most days.  Some days.  It's a lot of work but also very rewarding.  I suppose you're wondering if all they've learned is to stick their tongues out under my instruction?  OF COURSE NOT...it's homeschool not clownschool...

See....they do more than just stick their tongues out.  They keep us on our toes and bring lots of laughter to our house.  Sometimes a few tears too.  I have some grey hair that I attriubte to them as well, but all in all I've decided to keep them.  The kids I mean.  The grey hair not so much.  I have a covenant with Miss Clairol.

COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!  One of the things I love most is decorating cookies.  For many years I had a painting business where I did murals and other fun artsy stuff for people.  The last couple of years I've decided cookies are my favorite.  It's kind of like painting, but more fun to lick your fingers.

Now you know me a little better...I forgot to tell you that I LAUGH often and sometimes to the point of near exhaustion.  Life is full of 'funny' if you just open your eyes.  I hope you'll enjoy the funny and the sometimes serious things I write about here. Because generally speaking, I'm JENerally speaking.
